A mainland paraglider recently claimed that he survived after he was accidentally propelled more than 8,000 metres into the sky.

But suspicion arose after a cyber security company said the footage that the man allegedly captured was partially generated by A.I.

Peng Yujiang was paragliding near the Qilian mountains last month when he was accidentally propelled over 8,000 metres into the air after losing control of his equipment.

His survival attracted global attention, with footage captured by Peng showing his ordeal recently uploaded online.

This as American cyber security company GetReal analysed the video and claimed at least five seconds of the footage was generated by artificial intelligence.

Peng has yet to respond to the accusation.

Mainland sports authorities had earlier barred Peng from paragliding for half a year.
