Immigration Dept. proposes passport fee hike starting in Sept.

The Immigration Department will raise fees from September. The adjustments are expected to generate an additional 100 million dollars in annual revenue.
The hikes include increasing passport application fees for those aged 16 or above. A 32-page passport will go up 60 dollars to 430 dollars.
A total of 28 services are set to see fee adjustments including charges for visa extensions. Twenty services will see increases of more than 20 and up to 51 percent.
