Premier Li Qiang met with Indonesia's President Prabowo Subianto on Sunday to discuss ways to expand trade and investment amid U.S. tariff hikes.

Li arrived in Jakarta on Saturday for a three-day visit to Southeast Asia's largest economy.

Indonesia and China are member states of BRICS and the Group of 20 major developing countries and emerging economies.

Li brought 60 prominent Chinese business people for his address to the Indonesia-China Business Reception this evening. He emphasised that China's economy has achieved rapid growth this year despite increasing external challenges.

Subianto expressed gratitude to the Chinese government and its companies that have helped boost Indonesia's economy, creating jobs, developing technology and building trust.

Two-way trade between the two countries exceeded 147.8 billion U.S. dollars last year, growing by 6.1 percent.
