The movie set exhibition of "Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In" opened to the public for the first time today in Kowloon City.
Tourists and locals flocked to the Kowloon Walled City Park to catch up in a wave of nostalgia.
The exhibition opens from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Kowloon Walled City Park welcomed many revellers and local residents early this morning.
Some queued up in the rain to get tickets. This woman from Guangzhou said she came all the way to the exhibition because she is a big fan of the movie.
Tourists need admission tickets to get in, with a viewing time of 15 minutes. A maximum of 30 people are allowed for each session. Tickets for morning sessions were all distributed at around 11 a.m.
This resident said she could not secure a ticket for the morning session and was forced to return in the afternoon. But some foreign tourists are happy.
But to be honest, there is a lot of stuff to see around. If you have to wait an hour too, I think it is fine.
Inspired by the award-winning martial arts film "Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In," the exhibition comprises eight showrooms, featuring life in olden-day Kowloon Walled City.
This resident said she visited the Walled City in the last century so the life-sized fishball replicas were familiar.
This tourist from Beijing said she was impressed by the electric cables on the ceiling, which made it look real.
The Kowloon Walled City Park was built in 1847 where many historical artefacts still remain. Members of the public can join guided tours organised by the government to know more about the history.
Some revellers explored the community nearby after visiting the exhibition.
This lady who runs a restaurant in Kowloon City said business went up by 10 to 20 percent today.
She said they prepared more food for potential consumers who may be tempted to visit after attending the exhibition and concerts at Kai Tak Sports Park.
