Many Hong Kong universities said they were prepared to welcome Harvard's foreign students to join them.
After the announcement of Donald Trump's plan to block Harvard's ability to admit international students, several Hong Kong universities expressed their wish to attract talent from one of the world's most prestigious schools.
Among them, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology was the first local institution to take action. It reportedly said the number of enquiries are in double digits.
City University of Hong Kong said they would offer various forms of support to the students, including scholarships.
The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, meanwhile, said they welcome students who have received offers from Harvard or from other top U.S. schools to join their community.
The Chinese University of Hong Kong said they are keen to admit students from any country.
Lingnan University and Baptist University said special arrangements would be made for students who are required to change their study plans.
