Toddler stays with her mother's corpse for four days

A three-year-old girl was found next to the body of her mother in an apartment in Ngau Tau Kok on Friday.
The 40-year-old mother was said to have been dead for four days.
The tragedy happened inside a unit at Lok Wah Estate's Ping Wah House. Police received a report from a resident at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, saying they heard noises coming from next door.
The Housing Department was notified and visited the unit. Sources say the girl's grandmother arrived to open the door and found the mother unconscious.
She was pronounced dead at the scene. Sources say the deceased was a single mother who suffered from asthma.
Police say the death was not suspicious. Authorities said the girl had eaten some food, such as biscuits and bread, which were left in the unit.
Police said the woman had no suicidal intentions but had financial difficulties.
