In the U.S., a private jet carrying a music talent agent and five others hit a power line in foggy weather and crashed into a San Diego neighbourhood.
This is all that was left of the home a private jet crashed into early Thursday morning. Other homes and vehicles were also damaged in this U.S. Navy-owned military neighbourhood.
Witnesses described the scene just after the crash.
San Diego resident Roderick Sheridan said: "Yeah, at about 3:47, I heard a loud crash. Didn't really think anything of it, but thought it was odd. And my wife said, hey, I think a plane crashed. And so we went outside and we looked a block over and we seen a fire and smoke.
Another resident, Ben McCarty, said: "I woke up to a loud explosion. My wife was screaming and she's like, there's a fire. I was trying to comprehend what happened. I thought maybe a gas leak or something had happened. And then I woke up and I could feel the heat all around me. I walk to the hall towards the front of my house and all I could see was fire and the roof of the house was torn off.
"You could see the night sky from our living room," said his partner Srujana.
Authorities say the plane was on a flight path for landing at the time of the crash.
Elliot Simpson, an NTSB aviation accident investigator, said: "It struck power lines about two miles southeast of the airport, then collided with a house."
42-year old music executive Dave Shapiro, known in the heavy metal and hard rock scene, was among the dead along with two of his employees.
Shapiro had a pilot's license and was listed as the owner of the plane that crashed.
