A Lufthansa flight flew without a pilot for nearly 10 minutes after its co-pilot fainted while alone in the cockpit.
A full report on the incident that happened in February last year has been published by Spanish investigators.
The flight carrying 199 passengers and six crew members was flying from Frankfurt, Germany to Seville, Spain.
Authorities said the 38-year-old co-pilot suffered sudden incapacitation and lost consciousness when the captain was using the restroom.
Fortunately, the aircraft was able to continue flying due to the active autopilot.
The cabin crew tried to contact the co-pilot with the onboard telephone but received no response.
The captain used emergency code to re-enter after multiple failed attempts.
After 10 minutes, the co-pilot eventually regained his senses, opened the flight deck from inside, and the captain immediately took control of the aircraft.
The flight was forced to make an emergency landing in Madrid.
