With tensions in the China-U.S. tariff and trade war easing slightly, U.S. President Donald Trump said he is willing to travel to China to speak with President Xi Jinping on diplomatic and economic issues.
Speaking in an interview with Fox News, Donald Trump said the relationship between China and the U.S. was important.
He claimed China could have "fallen apart" had both countries not agreed to lower tariffs on each other.
Meanwhile, Trump's 90-day pause on tariffs imposed on their trading partners will expire in July. So far, the U.K. is the only country that reached a new trade agreement with America.
Trump said the negotiations were going too slow, and he will give various countries a few more weeks. The U.S. would then send letters to the countries informing them about Washington's new tariffs.
Donald Trump, the U.S. President said, "we have at the same time, 150 countries that want to make a deal, but you are not able to see many countries so at a certain point over the next two or three weeks. I think Scott (Bessent, Secretary for Treasury) and Howard (Lutnick, Secretary for Commerce) will be sending letters out, essentially telling people, we want to be very fair, but we'll be telling people what they'll be paying to do business in the United States".
