In Beijing, a sudden hailstorm struck multiple districts. Local meteorological departments have issued the yellow alert for hail.
Social media footage showed the capital was battered by thunderstorms and heavy rain. Some residents said some hailstones pelting down were as large as eggs. Some vehicles parked outdoors were damaged.
Authorities reported that under the influence of severe convective weather, districts including Yanqing, Shijingshan and Shunyi experienced gales reaching level 8 and hail.
