Hong Kong tram fares have risen today.
Adult fares, for those above 12, increase from 3 dollars to 3.30. Child fares go up from 1.50 to 1.60, while fares for seniors (65 or above) rise from 1.30 dollars to 1.50, monthly passes remain at 260 dollars.
The new fare was approved by the Chief Executive in Council on April 8th after considering public affordability, the tram company's finances, operating costs, and future revenue needs. Authorities said the adjustment was necessary to maintain stable tram operations.
