Romania's Dan desperate for votes

Thousands attended a rally in Romania in support of presidential candidate Nicusor Dan.
Dan is pro-EU, it is a week before he faces a hard-right nationalist front-runner George Simion. 55-year-old Dan came in second to Simion in the first round last week.
The most recent poll ahead of the runoff suggests Simion holds a lead ahead of voting on May 18.
Simion's critics have long accused him of being pro-Russian and warn that his presidency would undermine both the EU and NATO.
Nicusor Dan told supporters: "We need to rebuild this country, we need to project hope and we need, from 19 May, a united Romania so that its people will be able to face the challenges inside and outside the country."
