Donald Trump said "great progress" was being made in ongoing U.S.-China tariff talks. The U.S. President suggests a "total reset" was on the table. Negotiations continue in Switzerland.
No major breakthrough was announced in discussions that lasted more than 10 hours.
"A very good meeting today with China, Many things discussed, much agreed to. A total reset negotiated in a friendly, but constructive, manner," the president wrote on his Truth Social platform.
"We want to see, for the good of both China and the U.S., an opening up of China to American business. GREAT PROGRESS MADE!!!"
Vice Premier He Lifeng is leading the Chinese delegations and has been in conversation with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer.
Officials at the White House also offered little information following the opening day of discussions.
