Iran says it will not back down if the United States' goal is to deprive Tehran of what it says are its nuclear rights.

Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi was speaking in Qatar ahead of another round of talks between Iran and the U.S. in Oman. Araghchi also says, "An agreement with the U.S. is possible if its aim is non-proliferation of nuclear weapons."

Iran says the country does not seek to have nuclear weapons, but has the right to peaceful use of nuclear energy.

Tehran's foreign minister Araghchi and President Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff will meet in Oman after three previous rounds of talks. The two will reportedly speak in direct and indirect talks on Sunday, according to one U.S. source.

It comes ahead of Trump's visit to Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
