EU will maintain close ties with Hong Kong, says ambassador Harvey Rouse

Head of the EU office for Hong Kong and Macao, Harvey Rouse, on Friday said the European Union will continue to work closely with Hong Kong. Rouse's comment came at the Europe Day celebration in Central.
Financial Secretary Paul Chan was among the Hong Kong officials who attended.
HARVEY ROUSE, Head of EU Office for Hong Kong and Macao: "We aim to strengthen our existing ties but also explore new opportunities, new avenues for cooperation that will benefit both sides, while upholding universal values. It's clear that we are all good friends, we do also raise some issues that we disagree on, and the EU will continue to offer any critique in a constructive manner."
