Police took away national security fugitive Joe Tay's cousin and his wife for questioning this morning.

Sources say officers from the National Security Department took the couple away from their residence in Fo Tan in the morning.

The investigation is reportedly focused on whether they had any contact with, or provided assistance to Cheng.

Tay's cousin left Shatin Police Station at around 12:30 this afternoon. His wife completed the investigation about an hour earlier and left Tin Sam Police Station.

62-year-old artist and former singer Joe Tay, also known as Cheng King-kei is wanted by the police for a suspected violation of the National Security Law.

He fled to Canada in 2020, just days before the National Security Law was implemented. He's had a 1 million-dollar bounty on his head since December 2023.

Last month, Cheng ran as a Conservative Party candidate in a Canadian federal election in Ontario but lost.
