Customs officers arrest chairman of Alliance Medical Group after suspected closure

The Customs and Excise Department received some 1,700 complaints after the Alliance Medical Group was suspected of a sudden closure.
The complaints involved a total of 7.2 million dollars.
Authorities have arrested the company's male chairman and his female secretary on suspicion of violating the Trade Descriptions Ordinance.
The Customs and Excise Department said the company was suspected of a sudden closure last Thursday.
Individual complaints among the 1,686 complaints related to the incident accounted for anywhere between 350 dollars and 29,000 dollars.
Authorities stressed they will investigate the company's recent operational and financial situation, and did not exclude the possibility of more arrests.
