Today is the final day of the "Golden Week" holiday. As of 4 p.m., Hong Kong welcomed nearly 63,000 mainland tourists.
The five day "Golden Week" holiday attracted some 900,000 mainlanders to the city, which is at least 13,000 people more than last year.
As the five day "Golden Week" holiday is coming to an end, many tourists made the most of their last day.
Some of them hopped on a sightseeing bus on Hong Kong island.
Various border checkpoints were packed with people.
The authorities said at least 890,000 mainland revellers came to Hong Kong during the five-day holiday.
As the Buddha's birthday concided with the final day of "Golden Week", it was expected that today will see the most residents returning.
