Burst water pipe disrupts traffic on Prince Edward Road West

A burst underground water pipe at the junction of Prince Edward Road West and Waterloo Road caused traffic disruption this afternoon.
Muddy water and debris flooded the road and pavement, forcing authorities to close pedestrian crossings and two westbound lanes.
The affected pipe, a 450-millimetre fresh water supply line, is now under urgent repair.
The Water Supplies Department said nearby users remain unaffected, while police responded to the incident just before 3 p.m., describing the flooded area as roughly the size of a badminton court.
