Shenzhou-19 spaceship touches down at Dongfeng landing site

The Shenzhou-19 crewed spaceship successfully touched down at the Dongfeng landing site in Inner Mongolia, following a delay caused by poor weather. Authorities say the three astronauts are all in good condition.

Eight hours after undocking the Tiangong space station combination, the spaceship's return capsule separated from the orbital module and headed back to the Earth.

Around midday, the three-person crew -- Cai Xuzhe, Song Lingdong and Wang Haoze -- returned to the landing site in north China's Gobi Desert where support teams were on standby.

Footage from state media showed the moment when the return capsule's main parachute deployed against the sky.

Prior to the landing, the astronauts, having completed all tasks during a six-month stay in space, held a handover ceremony with the Shenzhou-20 crew on Sunday.
