Village house in Kam Tin caught fire

A village house in Tai Hong Wai, Kam Tin, caught fire, a man was injured and sent to hospital.

Footage showed flames raging on the village house's rooftop, with thick smoke billowing into the sky. A man was sitting on the edge of an outer wall.

Firefighters on the rooftop of a neighboring village house sprayed water to cool him down. He was later rescued by firefighters and taken to Tuen Mun Hospital for treatment.

Firefighters received a report of the fire at around 7:30 AM. They deployed one hose and a smoke helmet team to extinguish the fire, which was put out in approximately 45 minutes.

During the fire, teachers and students from a nearby primary school were evacuated to a safe location.
