Funeral of late tycoon Lee Shau-kee will be held on Monday

The funeral of the late property tycoon Lee Shau-kee will be held next Monday, with a wake scheduled for Sunday.

Chief Executive John Lee and Zheng Yanxiong, director of the central government's liaison office, are among members of the funeral committee.

According to Henderson Land Development, the funeral committee consists of 74 people, including two former CEs -- Tung Chee-hwa and Leung Chun-ying, and senior government officials from the current administration.

A wake will be held at Hong Kong Funeral Home in North Point on Sunday, and a public memorial at 9 a.m. next Monday.

Henderson said mourners can go to a nearby playground for the memorial if the funeral home becomes overcrowded.

Lee Shau-kee passed away last month at the age of 97.He will be buried in his hometown, Daliang, a subdistrict of Shunde in Guangdong Province.
