HK eager to form new trading partnerships

Financial Secretary Paul Chan said today Hong Kong is eager to form new trading partnerships amid geopolitical tensions.
Chan made the remarks at the opening ceremony of the InnoEX exhibition in Wan Chai.
The InnoEX fair kicked off at the Convention and Exhibition Centre, gathering more than 500 exhibitors from 17 countries and regions.
The fair presents the public with different aspects of innovation and technology, including the low-altitude economy, AI robotics and smart mobility.
Among the low-altitude economy exhibitors, this mainland company has developed an electric aerial car, which can travel a total distance of 200 kilometres and accommodate one pilot and five passengers.
Having completed its first public test flight in June last year, the aerial car would be used in three scenarios:
transport, tourism and emergency rescues.
LENITY FAY, CMO, AEROFUGIA: "It can take off and land vertically, and landing on the rooftop of skyscrapers or the traditional airports. Hong Kong is a perfect place for companies from the mainland. This low-tax rate and international employee environment here is very good for the future development."
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the fair, Financial Secretary Paul Chan said the city is looking for new trade collaborators.
PAUL CHAN, Financial Secretary: "In this turbulent times, Hong Kong remains open and welcoming to business and talent from all over the world. We are eager to establish new connections and forge new partnerships. this is in our DNA. Rest assured that our free port status and free trade policy remain unstricken."
Meanwhile, Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry Sun Dong said the SAR can overcome the existing geopolitical challenges by remaining liberal and creative.
