President Xi meets state leaders in Beijing during Global Women's Summit

President Xi Jinping today met a number of state leaders and government heads who are in Beijing for the two-day Global Women's Summit.

Xi met with visiting President of Ghana John Mahama, President of Iceland Halla Tomasdottir, as well as leaders of Mozambique and Sri Lanka.

The summit, co-hosted by China and the United Nations Women, was intended to forge consensus and accelerate actions to promote women's advancement in the world.

It marked 30 years since the 1995 World Conference on Women was held in Beijing.
