The Civil Aid Service held a mountain safety promotion day in Tsuen Wan.

During the event, the Civil Aid Service gave demonstrations on how to transport injured people from a height to the ground.

Based on Fire Services Department figures, the Civil Aid Service cited an average of 500 to 600 mountain rescue incidents annually in recent years.

In the first nine months of this year, there were about 250 cases, 30% less than the same period last year.

Out of the 62 mountain accidents handled by the Civil Aid Service, over 65% involved missing persons, mainly because they hiked alone.

Through the low-altitude economy regulatory sandbox scheme, the Civil Aid Service tested using drones to patrol and detect wildfires.

It also tested delivering first-aid equipment with drones, helping rescuers better secure the golden rescue time.
