Senior Police Constable Chu Chun-kwok, who was paralyzed in an attack 21 years ago and passed away last month, is laid to rest with full police honours at Gallant Garden.
The funeral with full police honours was held at the Universal Funeral Parlour in Hung Hom.
A banner read "Noble Spirit Lives On" was hung in the funeral hall.
Chief Executive John Lee, along with several principal officials and Executive Council members, attended the service.
Commissioner of Police Joe Chow and former commissioner Dick Lee were also present.
After the mourning ceremony, Chu's coffin was draped with the SAR flag.
It was then transferred to a hearse converted from a police vehicle.
The Chief Executive led government officials and police representatives lining up outside the funeral parlour to pay their final respects.
The hearse slowly departed as the police band played a mournful tune.
The coffin was then moved to Cheung Sha Wan Police Station, where Chu was stationed, for a farewell ceremony.
Officers lined up inside the station, laying wreaths and saluting the hearse.
The coffin was later transferred to Gallant Garden for burial.
Chu was slashed in the neck by a youth while on duty in 2005.
Severe blood loss led to brain hypoxia, leaving him completely paralyzed.
Chu was awarded the Medal for Bravery (Gold) by the government the following year in recognition of his gallantry.
Chu passed away from organ failure at Kwong Wah Hospital last month at the age of 52.
