SpaceX founder Elon Musk on Monday pledged to give "every kid in America"
one share of his company the next year.
The offer arrived a day after AI company Anthropic announced in a social
media post that it will commit 5% of its shares to a new public fund
and as the public grows increasingly weary of AI.
Shares of SpaceX, which will report its quarterly earnings
on Tuesday, closed at $146.03 on Friday.
With approximately 73 million children under the age of 18
in the United States, the value of Musk's pledge is around $10.66 billion.
Musk did not share more details about how he plans to roll
out his pledge. But he did share on his post that this will be the first of many.
