ICAC charge Cyberport section head on suspicion of bribery and fraud

The Independent Commission Against Corruption charged six individuals including a section head of Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company and the proprietor of an IT company on suspicion of accepting bribes and defrauding government technology subsidies involving 20 million dollars.

The case involved Cyberport Head of Entrepreneurship Alice So being suspected of accepting several gifts including flight tickets, luxury handbags and smartphones from Viola Lam, the proprietor of an IT company, between October 2023 and January this year.

Lam had sought to bribe So to curtail investigations and complaints related to her company, Find Solution.

The case was adjourned to the 4th of January next year, with the defendants having been granted bail.
