HK bar tops world list for second year in a row

A local bar in Hong Kong has retained its title as the No. 1 bar on the World’s 50 Best Bars list.

Located in Central, Bar Leone became the first Asian bar in history to top the list last year, and has now won for the second consecutive year.

The judging body stated that the bar brings Roman drinking culture into the Central neighborhood.

It praised the establishment for adhering to the philosophy of "cocktail popolari" (cocktails for the people), focusing on pure hospitality and faultless mixology. By blending vintage Italian elements with a warm neighborhood vibe, it creates a relaxed, authentic, and vibrant environment filled with the essence of daily life.

The judging organization noted that Hong Kong has reclaimed its status as Asia’s "cocktail capital," with a total of 4 bars making the list—including Argo at the Four Seasons Hotel, which ranked 2nd locally and 25th in the world.
