Over 14 million Skyticket customers' personal information leaked

Personal information of Japanese travel booking website Skyticket's 14 million plus customers was leaked after the online platform experienced a cyberattack.

Some Hong Kong customers of the booking platform said they were notified via email about the situation.

The Japanese company noted a third party acquired personal information of their customers without consent and apologised to all those who were affected.

Japanese media reported personal information such as names, birthdays, emails, mobile phone numbers and addresses have been leaked.

Skyticket's operator said the platform experienced cyberattacks between the 2nd and 4th of this month, with the company having started notifying customers after finding out the incident on the 5th.
