The Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Office in Hong Kong has expressed opposition to the US State Department's "2026 Trafficking in Persons Report."

The office says the report slanders the SAR's achievements in combating human trafficking, and is a smear campaign against Hong Kong's national security law. The spokesperson says the US report is filled with subjective speculation and political bias -- lacking any credibility.

It says since the implementation of the national security law, the city has transitioned from chaos to order. Washington has turned a blind eye to this.

The spokesperson adds the US is a major hotspot for human trafficking, urging the Americans to examine its own perennial issues and stop interfering in Hong Kong and China's internal affairs.
