Next year's Chinese New Year fair stalls at Victoria Park have been put up for open auction for three days.
On this second day, more students tried to bid for dry goods stalls to acquire some business know-how.
46 large dry goods stalls and 13 regular dry goods stalls were up for grabs today with reserve prices set at about 12,000 and 8,000 dollars each respectively.
The stall -- dubbed the "stall king" of dried goods for its proximity to the Tin Hau MTR Station fetched a price of 50,000 dollars after four bids -- 1,000 dollars less than last year while another stall near the entrance at Gloucester Road in Causeway Bay was sold for 34,000 dollars after 23 bids.
The successful bidder says he will sell traditional Hong Kong snacks.
Many secondary school students also took part.
One school secured the bid for a dry good stall at 27,000 dollars and plans to design products that merge elements of both their school and the Year of the Sheep.
Including Victoria Park, all 14 Lunar New Year markets across Hong Kong will be held for seven consecutive days starting January 31, 2027.
