A joint office of lawmakers Bill Tang and Chan Pui-leung in Sau Mau Ping is splashed with red paint.

Police arrest a 66-year-old man over the incident.

The joint office of Tang Ka-piu and Chan Pui-leung is located on the ground floor of Sau Chi House in Sau Mau Ping Estate.

It was set up over three years ago.

An estate security guard reports to police after finding the office splashed with red paint at around 6:30am.

Posters, the metal gate, and a security camera outside the office are covered in red paint.

Responding to the incident at Legco, Tang and Chan say no staff members are injured and they strongly condemn the act.

Tang says their office is equipped with security camera, and they will be handing the footage over to police for their investigation.

Tang urges both police and and the Housing Department to expedite this case and step up day-to-day security.

Police arrest a 66-year-old man within three hours of the report.

It is believed the man earlier sought help from the lawmakers' office and is suspected to have splashed the paint out of anger over the handling of his case.
