More than 370 flu cases have been recorded since the new school year began,
affecting over 2,000 people.
The Department of Heath says the flu remains active
in the coming weeks, and this year's flu season is lasting longer than last year.
Head of the Emergency Response and Programme Management Branch
Leung Yiu-hong says on a radio programme that the situation
is unusual as there is no winter flu outbreak.
He explains the dominant strain shifts from influenza A H3 in June to H1 now,
which affects the public's overall immunity and prolongs the current flu season.
He adds the outbreak has peaked in early September and is dropping slower than usual.
