One hiker was dead after falling down a cliff while hiking and abseiling on Kowloon Peak.
The other man who hiked with the deceased sustained minor injuries. Both were off-duty senior ambulancemen. The Fire Services Department expressed deep condolences over the passing of its staff member. After receiving a report over the case from police, a Government Flying Service helicopter searched around the hill at around 3 pm, spotting a red climbing rope hanging on a rock face.
By nearly 5 p.m., the fire services rescue team abseiled down and located the fallen man at one of the rock faces.
