Cabbie fell unconscious while driving in Cheung Sha Wan

A 66-year-old taxi driver fell unconscious while four passengers were in his cab.

Footage circulating online -- allegedly from a surveillance camera in the taxi shows the driver on the left wearing a gray shirt allegedly passed out while driving with his body swaying from side to side.

Four passengers tried to wake him up, and to control the taxi.

The cab lost control for about 50 seconds before coming to a halt.

Police say the incident occurred at noon on Monday.

The taxi was travelling along Ching Cheung Road in Cheung Sha Wan.

The taxi later lost control and crashed into a stone curb.

The driver was unconscious when he was sent to Caritas Medical Centre for treatment.

None of the four passengers in the vehicle were injured.

It is understood that the driver has a "history of illness".
