Two 6 year old pandas bound for US Atlanta

Giant pandas Ping Ping and Fu Shuang, hailing from Chengdu's giant panda research base, will soon head to the United States.

Both six years old, Ping Ping and Fu Shuang are heading to the zoo in Atlanta to begin a ten-year programme of giant panda conservation cooperation.

Male panda Ping Ping has a twin younger brother named An An -- together, "Ping An" means peace in Chinese.

Female panda Fu Shuang has a twin older brother Lu Xi. Together, their name symbolises double blessings and prosperity.

Xinhua News Agency reports that this latest round of panda conservation programme will enhance friendship between the peoples of both countries.
