Besset: All Iranian airlines will be shut down from Sept. 23

Speaking to CNBC in New York City, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said all Iranian airlines will be shut down on September 23rd by the threat of secondary sanctions on air services providers.

This, after he said the US was having positive discussions with various countries on compliance with US sanctions on Iran.

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent: "On September 23rd, all the Iranian airlines, all the Iranian airlines will be shut down around the world. And how do we do that? That if they land, you cannot provide them with fuel, you cannot provide them with landing services, you cannot sell them tickets, or you will be knocked out of the dollar system. And what we're seeing here, Joe, is we've seen enablers."
