CPC Central Committee to hold plenary session between Oct 26 and 29

The Communist Party of China's Central Committee will hold a plenary session between the 26th and 29th of next month, which will focus on the advancement of rigorous party self-governance.

Xinhua News Agency reports President Xi Jinping will convene the meeting next month in Beijing.

The session is aimed at resolving prominent problems facing party-building, and will make necessary improvements in accordance with suggestions from the Politburo's discussions.

Some academics say central authorities have emphasised stricter party governance since the 18th National Congress, adding that anti-graft efforts remain the core of such sessions.
