Houthi rebels release footage of wreckage claiming to be Saudi F-15

The Houthi rebels released footage Wednesday showing the wreckage of what they claimed is a Saudi-operated F-15 fighter jet downed over Marib province, though AP could not independently verify the claim.

The footage came as tensions continue to mount in the Middle East, as regional officials reported that Saudi Arabia, facing dwindling missile interceptors amid an ongoing war with Iran and Houthi drone attacks, has asked nations including France, Britain, Pakistan, and Egypt to deploy air-defense teams.

Saudi officials also accused the Houthis of attempting to target Mecca with a drone, a claim the group denied.
