Belt and Road summit kicks off with more than 6000 in attendance

The two-day Belt and Road Summit kicks off at the Convention and

Exhibition Centre.

Chief Executive John Lee says the city is a key economic hub on the Belt

and Road map and a gateway into Chinese Mainland for the global market.

The Belt and Road Initiative is not a map of the past,

but a shared blueprint for the future. And Hong Kong is where we

realise that future. Where East meets West. Where capital, talent,

businesses and opportunities converge.

Some 6,000 business and government leaders are in attendence from more

than 70 countries.

Lee furthers that the summit be witness to more than 60 inter-governmental

agreements and Memorandum of Understandings, with projects

totalling more than three billion US dollars.
