Chinese med hospital to launch 24-hour inpatient service in Dec

The Chinese Medicine Hospital will introduce 24-hour inpatient services in December with considerations to step up out-patient services in the community.

The hospital’s Chief Executive Bian Zhaoxiang says the institution opened last December and has expanded its outpatient services four times and now provides an average of around 17,000 outpatient services a month.

The hospital is now recruiting Chinese medicine practitioners and nurses – and arranging training for them in the mainland.

For the round-the-clock inpatient services, Bian says subsidised beds will cost 980 dollars a day and they will mainly be for patients who have difficulty caring for themselves or have more complex or unclear conditions requiring both Chinese and Western medical examinations.
