The Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon will be held on January 17 next year.
The annual race will continue to feature three categories: the 10km race, Half Marathon, and Full Marathon.
Noting the high demand for the half marathon in recent years, organisers will raise the half marathon quota from 25,000 to 29,000 bringing the total race quota to 78,000 – the highest ever for the event.
Next year’s event will also hold a 5-km waterfront run on January 16, starting at Kai Tak Sports Park, following the Kai Tak Waterfront Promenade to the finish line at Shing Kai Road Garden, with 3,000 spots available.
The 5-km race will be suitable for families, seniors and wheelchair users.
The organiser says the course of the races will start at Nathan Road and the Eastern Corridor, and finish at Victoria Park – generally the same as previous years, but the route may pass through different locations.
