Indonesia and China's foreign and defence ministers meet in Jakarta where the two countries talked about better defence and economic cooperation.
The two countries convened their first Comprehensive and Strategic Dialogue, with Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi, launching the new bilateral mechanism to strengthen cooperation across five pillars - political, economic, security, maritime and people-to-people relations.
Meanwhile Wang says the ties have "gone beyond the bilateral sphere and is having a broad and profound impact on the region and the world."
Indonesia's economic ties with China have flourished in recent years, whose value reached approximately 167.48 billion dollars in 2025.
