FEHD inspects school lunchbox suppliers across HK

Ahead of the start of the school year, the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department has stepped up inspections of food manufacturing facilities across Hong Kong that supply lunchboxes to schools.

The department said it has ensured that the facilities meet required food hygiene standards when handling and preparing meals.

It will also continue to collect food samples for lab testing.

Schools have been advised to choose suppliers approved by the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department and to conduct on-site inspections of suppliers before placing lunchbox orders.
