Hayden Panettiere, who starred in TV show "Heroes" and played a country pop singer in "Nashville", has died at the age of 36.
Police said Panettiere was found unresponsive in an apartment in Greenville in the US State of South Carolina earlier on Sunday.
No cause of death has been provided.
Local authorities said there were no signs of foul play or suspicious circumstances.
The television star had been open to the public about her struggles with alcohol and depression.
She was previously married to Ukrainian boxer Wladimir Klitschko.
Panettiere first gained fame starring in superhero drama series "Heroes" in 2006, and was known as a country singer playing against Connie Britton in "Nashville".
