An organisation urges the government to provide electronic appliances to low-income families as a means to help them cool down under the hot weather.

At the end of June, CarbonCare InnoLab and Subdivided Flat Support Network conducted a 21-day survey to track 86 families in nine districts through temperature and humidity monitoring. They found the average temperature recorded in the surveyed families exceeded 29 degrees.

About 80% of family carers stated they had experienced heat discomfort, while nearly 90% thought air conditioning expenses were a burden.
