A Hong Kong court on Wednesday sentences a KMB shunter
to a community service order of 200 hours
after he hit a colleague at Kowloon Bay Depot who later died.
The court earlier convicted him of careless driving.
The sentencing is held at Wan Chai District Court.
The 43-year-old shunter was initially charged with
dangerous driving causing death,
but the offence was changed to careless driving after trials.
On September 7, 2023, the shunter was at the depot
to park returned buses before he hit a bus driver.
The convicted only noticed his colleague was on the ground
more than two hours after the incident.
The driver was pronounced dead at hospital.
