New Huanggang Port transport fares to HK districts at $10.7-$27.6

The Transport Department announced that public transport fares to and from the redeveloped Huanggang Port. The lowest fares are set at $9.7.

After the opening of the new Huanggang Port Building, there will be seven bus routes and six minibus routes, connecting the port area with other districts. The fares will be between $10.5 and $27.6.

The most expensive is Citybus route B13, connecting Siu Sai Wan, with a fare of $27.6.

The cheaper one is KMB route B11 running between the port and Tin Fu Bus Terminus.

As the Huanggang Port will operate 24 hours, KMB overnight route NB73, connecting Sha Tin, will charge $22.6 for its one-way fare.

There will also be three minibus routes during the day, connecting Tuen Mun and Pat Heung with the port, with fares set at $15.7 and $9.7 respectively.

Three overnight minibus routes connecting Tin Shui Wai, Tuen Mun and Mong Kok with the port, charges fares between $14.6 and $28.5.

It's understood that the government will mobilise around 1,000 civil servants to undertake drills at the redeveloped port area that aim to test the connectivity at the port.

In Shenzhen, the first drill before the opening of Huanggang Port was also launched on Tuesday, mobilising about 3,000 people to mainly test the operation of escalators and elevators.

There will be simulations of incidents such as emergency rescue of sick travellers. The authorities says more than 200 drills will be conducted before the border opening to ensure smooth operation at all stages.
