Sham Shui Po Bishop Hill: phased removal of illegal structures started

The government has begun its two-phase operation to cordon off and clear illegal structures at Bishop Hill in Sham Shui Po.

Officially known as Woh Chai Shan, over the years, some residents nearby exercise and socialise around the area, despite safety concerns.

Some residents could be seen heading up the hill this afternoon to exercise with various fitness equipment and recreational facilities.

The Lands Department earlier posted a notice requiring those occupying the relevant government land to stop the occupation by Wednesday.

After removing the items, the government will build fitness and recreational amenities which are expected to be installed between late August and September.
